Wordful Wednesday

Before the loss of innocence!

This picture was taken Easter Sunday in 1959 or 1960. My Grandmother was visiting us this morning. She had brought her boyfriend Harvey. I loved Harvey and thought Grandma should have married him. I still do. I think she may have been happy.

My mother had made my sister Marrla and me matching dresses. I did have gloves but they probably got put into my purse.

I always loved Easter.

I loved getting a new dress, new shoes and new gloves. I always felt like so girly. I was able to pretend I wasn't really a tom boy at heart.

More Wordful Wednesday's over at Angie's!

Oh, I just adore your Easter dress : ). You look so cute. And sweet! And innocent. I was sort of sad this year when I went to church and barely anyone was dressed up at all. I always thought that dressing up on Easter was such a special thing. Times are changing!

Thank you for your sweet words on my blog tonight. You totally made my day. How kind.

Just adorable! Always love your retro posts...they include such Superior Snaps? BTW, did you ever see the movie Harvey? I loved that flick when I was a kid!

You have the cutest pictures and the best memories! I totally remember the first time I got to really dress up when I was a flower girl for a wedding. I felt so pretty and grown up that day - I was four. Hmmm...
